I also accept HSA payments.
Please consider that when it comes to financing your birth, you are:
Investing in your baby’s health and your own health and well-being. Labor and birth have a lifelong impact on both of you.
Supporting a local, woman-owned family business which in turn supports the families of my students/assistants.
Supporting the education of new midwives, the growth of the Midwifery Model of Care and our entire profession.
Basic Payment Plan: $7,500
This fee for Midwifery care is tax-deductible for families in the year they complete payments as “Out-of-Pocket Healthcare Expenses”
I ask that families make a $1,500 deposit once they decide to begin care. This goes toward the total fee. Then families can make monthly payments of $1,000 or devide the remaining balance in order to be paid in full one month before their due date (36wks of pregnancy). The payment schedule is individualized for each family, but the amount is the same regardless of when care begins. All payment plans are agreed upon in a contract in your client portal where you always have access to this information. Billing and invoices/receipts are updated and emailed to you after each payment.
Billing Traditional Insurance:
Unfortunately, Licensed Midwives are currently unable to bill insurance directly for home birth services. This is unfair and a waste of resources for insurance companies and our entire state, but that is out of my control. However, you can work with my third party insurance biller, Earthside Billing to try for a partial reimbursement. This process takes some explanation and requires that you complete a Verification of Benefits and a GAP exception during your pregnancy. Please call me for further information about insurance.
Christian Healthcare Ministries:
Some Health Share Plans cover home birth! These require that you sign up BEFORE you get pregnant. Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM) https://www.chministries.org/ is the only one that covers my services in full after you make the initial deposit. They are a wonderful organization that operates exactly how you would expect and hope that all insurance companies operate; you pay them a monthly fee and then they pay for the healthcare that you choose. Its very straightforward and honest, and I deeply respect the way they do business. I highly recommend that you work with them if you have not yet conceived.
