Prenatal appointments felt so comfortable like meeting with the best girlfriends. The end of my pregnancy and the beginning of my labor were nothing like I expected, but Ariana and her student knew exactly when to stand back and let me be and when to step in with extra support. “When we found out we were pregnant with our second child, I immediately called Ariana. She was one of our treasured midwives with our first pregnancy, and she was my number one choice for this pregnancy. This was in the beginning of the pandemic, and the uncertainties were tangible in everyday life. The unknowns felt extra heavy regarding birth. Fear all too easily crept into my heart and mind. Ariana offered us unwavering support in those awkward times. She was attentive and gentle and built a deeper sense of confidence, trust and calm. This, in turn, allowed us to relax, trust, and enjoy the process. The built trust also allowed me to turn off my clinical brain, as a labor and delivery nurse. I was able to surrender any need for control and trust that she would be perfectly honest and let me know what I needed to know or do in order to have a safe delivery at home. Her clinical judgement and clear communication is initially why she was our first choice. However, as the months of care went on, her kind nature and gentle presence in our home became something the whole family looked forward to. Ariana played a beautiful role including our two year old daughter in the prenatal care on the couch. Our daughter was thrilled to participate. I really feel that because of all the ways our daughter was encouraged and included in the prenatal process, she bonded strongly and sweetly to her new baby brother. This last birthing process was much harder for me than our first delivery. I looked to Ariana for guidance in the most vulnerable time of my life, and she always met me with clarity and grounded presence. Those moments are invaluable and I find it difficult to put the weight of the importance of those moments into words. Ariana carries with her grace and wisdom in a birth setting. Her postpartum care is also lovely, confidence inspiring, and attentive. She inspires me in so many ways. We are ever grateful for the care she and expertise she provided us, twice.”

“As a first time mother and father every aspect of childbirth was overwhelming. The thought of home birth resonated with my wife and myself so we set out to interview midwives in our area. Ariana made us feel comfortable, confident and most of all that we would be a priority for her. She guided us through the services she offers and we decided she was our midwife. When my wife got pregnant for a second time there was no doubt who was going to guide us a second time for a healthy, heart felt experience. I couldn’t imagine birthing in a hospital.
